As the Protectorate fights the opposition in a brutal civil war, a soldier decides to cut off the snake's head and avenge his family by assassinating the Protectorate's leader.

The days pass, accompanied by news of the civil war and of her majesty Victoria and her sister Joanne, who have been evacuated during the riots, while John waits in a cottage near the beach. Every day he goes to the beach and scans the ocean with binoculars, but never finds what he is looking for. When Joanne and Victoria go for a day on the yacht, they reveal the competitive relationship that has dominated their lives since childhood. John searches the ocean as he has done for many days, but this time he discovers what he is looking for. The yacht is anchoring near the beach. He swims towards the it, determined in his mission. He climbs aboard, threatens Victoria and pulls out several photographs from his bag, showing the horrors of the civil war between the Protectorate and the opposition, which caused the death of his entire family. Victoria tries to convince John that she is not pulling the strings, that she is merely a linchpin and that killing her would not change anything. John seems convinced when he hands Joanne the gun that appeared during John's accusation. They reveal their relationship when Joanne takes the gun and without hesitation shoots her sister. As Victoria drowns in the sea, John realises that Joanne never intended for him to survive either. Barely able to realise the trap he has walked into, he is also shot. Shot by Joanne, the new head of the Protectorate.
